1883 No Cent Liberty Nickel PCGS MS64
1883 No Cent Liberty Nickel PCGS MS64
In 1883 the mint released the new Liberty head nickel design with the Roman numeral V for five on the reverse with no mention of cents. Due to the size and design similarity to the $5 gold, some enterprising individuals were said to have plated them in gold and passed them for $5 to unsuspecting merchants. The word "Cents" was added to the reverse to end this misrepresentation.
Coin is graded MS64 by PCGS.
