2015 Glendale Coin Club Medal Toned

175.00

The Glendale Coin club of California commissioned Daniel Carr of the Moonlight Mint to strike these beautiful medals. Only 21 of these color toned copper medals were made. The obverse is dated 2015 and bears the cap and rays design used on The Pacific Company $5 gold in 1849 because of it's interesting link to California numismatic history. Colorful toning circles the outer rim with selective gold plating on the Cap & Rays. The reverse is a depiction of the California Grizzly used on the California Diamond Jubilee Half of 1925. The reverse like the obverse has colorful toning around the perimeter with the added effect of a black rhodium finish on the half dollar center design.

These medals were only available on a pre-order basis and no more will be struck.
